Traduzione
in italiano di Iacopo Nardi: Tito
Livio "Historico Patavino"
...as we can see the italian translation, already at that time, alters a lot the original meanings of Tito Livio:"the Taurinorum Urbs" becomes an indefinite town also if it is said that at a certain moment, Annibale went away from Torino... Italian translation by Jacopo Nardi; Tito Livio"Historico Patavino" ..in Livio it is clear that this town (of Taurini) is nothing else than the most important town in the zone(Urbe) so we speak about Torino (taurinorum). Italian translation by Jacopo Nardi; Tito Livio"Historico Patavino" Tito Livio in the modern edition. Neither Iacopo Nardi explains (on this point he is very vague) the reason for that town didn't come to an agreement with Annibale and he also deliberatily confuses the Galli (very generic term) with the Taurini and their most tight alliees, already allied with the Romans. And that the Taurini had to defend the town without the most part of the fighting forces, since the soldiers were engaged to calm the riot of Insubri (Lombardi Galli) against Rome. |

-Tito Livio, page on the details about the passage of Annibale in Piemonte- In these phrases it is insinuated that the Galli lived on the river Po(so the Taurini, who lived on the Eridanus, this is the way the river was called, would have been convinced to accept the alliance with Annibale...pure phantasy of the author.
